What you really missed at Rolex April 28 2014, 1 Comment

So you didn't make it to Rolex this year? Or maybe you did, but you thought it was kinda boring and long and drawn out (as if!). Okay, more than likely you had a blast - like I did - and want to know where all the cool kids were hanging and what the fun stuff was to do. And I am here to tell you!

I have to admit it was my first time at Rolex, and it was exciting, overwhelming, and incredibly busy. To be honest, I saw far less of the show than I would have liked, because I was working, but it was still worth it. I had an amazing time with clients, fans, brands, riders, competitors, and friends, and while I didn’t get to see any dressage (yes, I had to go home and YouTube it Friday night…), I got to hang out at the coolest tailgates on Saturday (a BIG thank you toBigtime Eventing and Eventing Nation for the fun times), and Sunday we had some of the best seats in the house, right next to the final Rolex jump!

I’m sure by now you’ve all read the highlights online, had a chance to watch the best moments on YouTube, and capture all the great photos and moments that hit the news. So rather than repeat what you’ve already seen, I’m going to give you an inside look at Rolex, from the working girl’s point of view. Are you ready? Here’s a tour of Rolex 2014 in pictures (and laughs)!

It was cool to see Dapplebay's tees at the Bit of Britain tent!

The wedding posers...as in not the real wedding party (see Eventing Nation's #10 on their Rolex list)

Speaking of Eventing Nation...their tailgate rocked! Can you find the chinchilla? Yeah there's a story there too, but you'd have to ask them (I don't know the full story haha).

Just in case you thought those jumps were small...

Look! A Baker themed trailer!

Sinead and Tate rocking the stadium jumping on Sunday (see? I told you our seats were that good! I took this with my iPhone 4S aka limited zoom.)

And I got to toast Hawley Bennett who rides one of my faves, Gin and Juice, in a champagne toast with Horsefly Group partner Holly and Nancy of Horse Quencher.

Oh, and for those of you in my random photos - you can email me at cj@horseflygroup.com and I'm happy to tag all of you! And to everyone else, don’t worry if you’re bummed you missed all the fun - find me at Garden State at the Sussex Fairgrounds this Saturday, or Jersey Fresh at the Horse Park of NJ next Saturday and maybe you’ll find yourself in one of these even recap blogs too! ;)
