Support OTTB's, and an All New Blog Series! January 14 2014, 0 Comments

The holidays have come and gone, and we're already a few weeks into our New Year's Resolutions (for the good or bad haha) and I'm sure if you're anything like me, you've got a little bit of the post holiday blues...or, erm guilt.  Well, I know I've mentioned Dapplebay before as one of my favorite brands (featured in my favorite things blog) but now they're doing something super cool post-holidays to help share the love. They're donating $5 from every OTTB purchase on their site in the OTTB category: to Beyond the Roses Equine Rescue & Retirement to help OTTBs get a soft landing after the racetrack, and into new and loving homes.

I've personally worked with Beyond the Roses and can't say enough good things about them. Gail (with the rescue) helped get a horse out here by Devil His Due named Control the Devil that had fallen on hard times and was (at the time) still a stud with an attitude to boot.  The rescue worked to have him gelded, got him to my friend's farm (she's a vet) where the aftercare was done, and after he settled a good friend and accomplished equestrian, Vicky, adopted him.  Happy to say that his attitude is now more of that of a couch potato and total love than bad boy, and his name has been changed from Control the Devil to Speak of the Devil, because, well we speak of him often.

And that's just one story on one horse they've helped. So from now through Valentine's Day, my friends at Dapplebay are helping Beyond the Roses save even more OTTBs and you can shop guilt free, knowing your purchase is helping a horse in need.  Share the love!

Then in other news, Rachel agreed to host a product review blog right here on  We already posted our review of the Voltiare saddles, and would like to hear from you on what else you'd like reviewed. We're accepting guest bloggers, and you're welcome to write a review and submit it to us at Include your review, pictures, and anything else you'd like posted with your blog, and we'll let you know if we can use it here. If you're not one for writing, no worries, just let us know what products you'd like us to review and if it's something one of us has used, we'll write the review for you.

The best part is that we're accepting reviews about any and all equestrian products - it doesn't just have to be brands here at - so don't be afraid to ask for a review on something you've heard so much about, or that new product you're dying to try but want to hear what others think before you drop the cash on a big purchase. Are you ready? Go!

We can't wait to hear from you and kick off this great new product review series!
